Really dumb question about the iso

Hi! Ive just started using nixos, came from arch before and i have a question about the ISOs and the channels

I installed stable from the “official site” i guess, if i wanted to go to the unstable nixos, do i need to install from the unstable iso or I just update the channels?

Its a bit confusing for me sorry
