Is it worth stockpiling high level food for the endgame?

Question

On my account, I've been focused on skilling. One of the things that I'm now working on is getting 99 fishing and cooking. I've not done a lot of high level pvm yet - just moons and barrows and titans but not really anything higher than that.

I'm wondering if it's worth prioritising high level food when getting my fishing from 86-99 (bwans, sharks, anglerfish, sea turtles, manta rays, halibut, marlin) or if I should just do whatever gives me the best XP. I suppose my main concern is that when I come to do high level PVM I will run out of food. I know that I will still get food while doing PVM, but when I move on to content such as GWD and above, I'll probably want to use brews, which I'm also saving up.

Ive currently got about 2k each of cooked anglers, sharks and bwans.

So if i go out of my way to get all this high end food and end up tripling the amount of time needed to max fishing - is it just going to sit in my bank for eternity or will i be glad i did it down the line?
