is this normal that my ldr bf never initiated intimate conversations?

my(28f) was in ldr with my bf(30m)for 2 years, during this 2 years he never initiated dirty talk or showed any interest in sharing nudes or any sort of sexual talks, i wouldnt think much if it because ik he is a gentleman with boundaries and since i have strong religious grounds it wasnt that big of an issue for me but yeah it would make me sad that he didnt even initiate kissing me when we would meet during his visit or make plans to get somewhere where we could have privacy(we are from the same country his family is here, he is pursuing higher studies abroad), we only had proper coffee dates
