Writing what you want in terms of tangible desires and actionable goals alone can reduce a lot of friction in your changing journey.

We all want to change, but i see a lot of people don't even have clarity of what they actually want, which makes their changing journey tougher.

One simple rule: Define the goals and desires clearly

This one thing done right alone will give you the clarity you needs in terms of changing your habits.

Desires needs to be tangible. Goals needs to be actionable.

Tangible - You should be able to tell when the desires is fulfilled, objectively.

"I want to be rich" is not tangible, "i want to earn 1 lakh per month" is.

"I want to get fitter" is not tangible, "i want to reduce my waist 2 inches" is

"I want to study 2 hour with focus" is not tangible, "I want to study 2 hours, without using my phone at all in the middle" is.

Actionable - The more specific the physical action is the more actionable to goal is, ideally you should be able to start doing it within 10 seconds of reading the goal.

I want to study every day is not actionable.

I want to read and understand 5 pages everyday, and then explain out loud what I read in my own words. - This is actionable.

I want to exercise for 1 hour everyday is not actionable

I want to do 3 sets of 10 push ups, 10 sit ups and 10 burpees. - this is actionable.

What is the tangible and actionable version of your wants?
