It feels like no matter how much I try, something is always in the way of me getting my cert (vent post)

I went for my cert last year after finding out abt a program that certifies underprivileged youth for free. Cool. The instructor ends up being completely hard to work with, easily irritated by normal human errors and fears. Eventually, the rest of my cohort got certified and I didn’t, as the instructor kicked me off my last open water dive.

Flash forward to now. I’ve been saving up all year while also working shitty jobs and barely making rent. I stumble upon another free certification program. Everything is going smoothly; the instructor is cool and professional, the pool dive is straight to the point and we get through all the skills successfully. All that’s left are the actual open water dives. However, I have trouble equalizing, always have, and my instructor recommended I see a doctor about it.

Get to the doctor, EAR INFECTION!!! Now I can’t dive for 2 weeks meaning I will miss my first open water dive. Mind you, I canceled my wisdom teeth extraction to be able to do this. I need my damn certification and it’s genuinely feeling like EVERYTHING is in the way.
