tweezers or thumb callouses, which is better?
i’ve had trichotillomania quite literally as long as i can remember, but it gets worse with stress (though i always do it at least somewhat… but maybe i’ve just never not been at least a bit stressed my entire life. probably) work has not been great recently and i work 70 hours a week so that’s kind of a lot. due to this i have developed huge callouses on both my thumbs from digging my nails into them while pulling hair. my nails are not super long because i bite them and trying to cut them more has unfortunately not helped. these callouses are particularly irritating when i use a lighter, which is often, because i am addicted to smoking (due to stress)
i avoid tweezers like the plague my partner keeps our tweezers hidden under my strict orders and we only got a pair in the first place because they got a splinter a while ago and at first we almost threw it away lol. but would it literally be better to use a tweezer and try to justify it by trying to pull less overall? like try to make it so i don’t bring the tweezers to work and i can only pull in the short time i’m home as a way to try to curb my constant at work hair pulling
does anyone have any input ??? also i wont quit my job and i have little to no desire to find a different kind of one
