just a question

i’m going to be completely transparent here- Am i the asshole for making my 2 best friends block me?

for the first friend- let’s call her S. S was always super nice to me but gradually over time we kinda stopped talking while still staying friends. later on me and her got in a GC with new friends. She never really talked but i did- i was almost always online and chatting with them.
Well, time-skip to a few months later we all become close and comfortable joking around without saying that we are. My friend called me “mommy” as a joke and i played along with it- but i wouldn’t have if i knew that he and S were dating. No one told me that they were- not even S.
My other friend took a screenshot and sent it to S as a joke and was about the unsend it, but S saw it too soon and said that she wanted to break up with my other friend.
Now i admit i’ve made a very poor communication choice by not addressing it, since S didn’t say anything after that and kept on talking to me like everything is normal. Atleast that was until she blocked me.. So i guess yeah i did a mistake by not addressing it. We haven’t talked since.

For the second friend, let’s call her R. R was also pretty nice to me and we hung out and talked a lot more than me and S. the only thing i didn’t really like was how she told everyone else about stuff going on in her life besides me- even though i was her first friend since she transferred to my school. but i brushed it off, thinking it’s just a boundary. One time i was in ANOTHER groupchat and me and this classmate were talking about random stuff and i sent a picture of Natsuki from DDLC, relating her to him as a joke. My friend came in and called her Sayori. My classmate got rlly rude about it and made fun of her. they made a tiktok about it and sent it to the gc.
i get really unsure when conflict comes because im always worried about accidentally choosing sides and betraying the other person. the best i could ask was:
“why a tiktok? 😭“
and no one responded in the gc after that. like- not even R.
soon she also blocked me.

maybe i am the asshole
but i would really appreciate some guidance or what you think because im pretty confused right now.
