Hot take: I feel like Sniper doesn't need major reworks

Discussion

I usually see a lot of posts on this sub that go over how they would add maybe tracer rounds, or a laser, or a reduction to his quick scope damage. I'm here to do a lot of this and more, but I'm making each nerf pretty minor to compensate for the amount of nerfs he's gonna get. I tried to take every major point of sniper's balancing (and a bit of my own) to make a more punishing but equally strong class.

First, a major reduction in ammo from 25 to just 10. This is to make sniper more punishing if he misses without nerfing anything big like his damage. Also, to prevent snipers from huddling near the payload cart or dispensers, they can't get ammo from them until they switch off. In return, Sniper is rewarded for killing high priority targets like medic with ammo. All light classes except sniper (Scout, Engi, Spy) give him no bonus ammo, while the normal classes (Soldier, Demo, Pyro, Sniper, Heavy) return 1 ammo, and killing a medic returns the ammo and 1 bonus shot. This should teach newer players to aim for important targets like medics.

Next, a pretty dim laser, dim enough for most players to miss. The catch though is that it gets brighter the further you are aiming, so enemies can roughly gauge how far you are. With that said, I think this accomplishes the job of tracer rounds without being tracer rounds. It's harder to detect if you're playing closer to the frontline which should hopefully reduce headshots from across the map.

Next, damage falloff from extremely far sightlines. This is simply to support the laser point above, so damage falloff and then crit falloff if you snipe even further.

Finally, his melee won't be able to random crit. While I know how much this sub hates random crits, hot take, melees random critting is fine, but this makes sniper strong in close range 60% of the time. So to fix that, sniper only random mini-crits now (or not because of Bushwacka). This should prevent him from one-shotting 7 out of the 9 classes more than half of the time. Please keep in mind that I don't even have triple digit hours in the game and I got most of my information from videos, the official wiki, and this sub.
