29F - is there a free way to get a medication refill?
Im not worried about the cost of the Rx, Im worried about the appointment. I had one more refill for my sertraline and lisinopril, both Ive been on for 3 years. Ive been without my meds a week. I was constantly calling my doctors office and the pharmacist but Im kind of in limbo. My PCP quit last minute and I cant see anyone else at that clinic for a couple of months. My pharmacist keeps trying to find a way to get someone to submit it but it keeps getting tossed back because I need to renew the script with a new doctor. But I cant get in for months. I wasnt prepared to have my PCP just quit. I would go to an urgent care but I don't have insurance right now and I definitely dont have $150 copay... The clinic I was going to I got financial aid from which is how I was able to pay for it. Since Ive been off my meds a week now, Ive started experiencing headaches, random short bursts of dizziness (I believe this is brain zaps?), stomach upset, irritability/mood swings, and insomnia.
Im tempted to go to the ER and see if I can get an emergency refill as I do also have financial assistance through the local ER. But I worry about taking up resources or time from true emergencies.
