Volunteer Value

Hey folks,

What sticks out to you about volunteering on a resume? Is it how long someone did with that organization? Does it just make you curious about what the organization does? Shows the person benefited to the community?

I've given up on finding a part-time job to gain experience. So now I'm between 6 different organizations I might want to volunteer at. I would like an idea if I should stay out of the bubble of the career I'm working towards, or it doesn't really matter on your end.

Any point of view from recruiters would be helpful. Thanks.
