My queer sister just doesn’t believe I’m gay

:usrrainbowupvote: Coming Out!

Didn’t really know how to flair this.

She has been out as a lesbian for a while. I don’t really like to put a label on myself because it’s really fluid and I just don’t see a point in labelling myself but I’ve known I was queer ever since I was 12.

It all started once when she said she saw me repost something about being queer and asked if I was gay. Like I said I really don’t label myself so when people ask I tend to either just say, “I like who I like” or “who knows.” I said that and she told me that she has “really good gaydar and it’s never gone off on me” and told me she thinks I’m straight.

I’ve told her I’ve had crushes on the same sex before and told her about the people I liked. She just doesn’t think I’m gay.

She gets mad at me for making gay jokes because she thinks I’m straight. I agree I should stop making gay jokes so I feel bad about it but she makes them a lot and doesn’t see an issue with it.

Maybe part of it is that I’m not really stereotypically gay, but I don’t think that should be an issue. It just kind of hurts that I’ve tried telling her so many times and she either thinks I’m just doing it on a whim or I’m lying for attention.
