Season 1 is very slow.

I came to Last War after playing Last Shelter Survival for a few years. Eventually I felt like I had run my course with Last Shelter, so I gave Last War a shot. Same basic game mechanics with a few tweaks.
After the slow grind through preseason, Season 1 finally arrived. I was expecting the pace to pick up and for there to be a lot more action.
Apparently, not so much. 😂
To be fair, I’m in the strongest alliance in our grouping, so I understand that nobody really wants to pick a fight with us. But I’m still surprised by how little actual PvP there seems to be.
So I’m curious for those of you who have played further into the game: Does Season 2 actually pick up the pace?
Are there more frequent fights and more meaningful PvP, or is Last War basically 7 days of farming/building followed by 30 minutes of actual fighting?
I’m enjoying the game, but I definitely came from Last Shelter expecting a little more chaos. Right now I feel like I’m farming resources for the privilege of occasionally getting to press the “fight” button. 😂
Would love to hear what S2 and beyond are actually like from people who have played them.
