Help with AVR and External amplifier compatibility
Hey all!
I have a pioneer avr, vsx-lx505. I bought a small amplifier to run the two surround back speakers. (The pioneer requires an external amp for back surrounds). The amplifier is a an EPISODE EA-AMP-2D-150A. its just for the surround back speakers so I did not want to spend a lot of money. Im running two 50watt klipsch r m41 speakers.
I have a concern however, I want to know whether the sensitivity of the amplifier is two low and if so, will it cause damage to the speakers or amplifier. The amplifier is hooked up to the avr via rca cables. The avr pre amp voltage is 1.00 volt, but the sensitivity of the EPISODE amplifier is 0.57 volts. I turned the gain fully to the max to have it matchingthe other speakers.
My question is, is the EPISODE sensitivity two low for the AVR'S 1.00 volt output, and if so whats the solution? I use my set up for mostly movies.
