Go to a 4-year to escape or community college to save money?
So, I'm an okay hs student, 3.0, a couple extracurriculars, all that good stuff. Not really aiming for Harvard or anything to be quite honest. I'm absolutely stuck on whether to go to community college and transfer to a 4-year, or go straight to a 4-year that I will (most likely) get into.
I have a math disability that makes any sort of math or math-heavy science class a slog, so I'm considering cc purely for the supposed better support with that sort of thing and the smaller class sizes. I'm fine in any other class, though. I'm also not totally sure on what I want to major in either and want the option to find out what I'm interested in. CC seems best for my wallet and education.
Major problem is I have kind of a hellish family situation and I'm at my last straw. I could hold out for two more years, but who knows when my moms gonna kick me to the curb or not. Hell, she barely wants me to succeed academically. So, I'm thinking about going to a state flagship to just get away. I have some pretty cheap universities in my vicinity, I want the "college life" everyone talks about, and the opportunity to truly focus on my education.
Any suggestions on what a stressed senior should do? Thanks!
