Do SLP mentors and supervisors get paid to supervise or mentor CFs?
I'm wondering if SLP superivors/mentors get paid to supervise Clinical Fellows in your workplaces? In the public school where I am in, we do not. I think it is important for SLPs to be, however, if they are putting in the extra time, feedback and observations needed. I know all CFs are different and some require less supervision, but then there are others who need the extra time and support. Our caseloads and workloads are full and saturated in the schools, and taking on new hires in my opinion involves good training and structure if the CF needs it. We are not paid!!!! Just venting and frustrated at the public school system in general. In what ways have you been able to advocate for extra pay or support to be an involved caring SLP mentor/supervisor to a new CF who needs extra help?
