Who Will Listen?

"And God said unto Noah, 'The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.'" (Genesis 6:13)

Are all disasters merely “natural”? Scripture shows otherwise. When God intervened in the earth’s natural order, the result was the greatest catastrophe in human history. The flood—“by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water” (2 Peter 3:6)—was a direct expression of God’s judgment. Yet even then, few listened.

God sealed billions of creatures within layers of rock across thousands of cubic miles. Their silent testimony still sparks debate today. But Scripture is clear: at a moment in earth’s past, “all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing… and every man” (Genesis 7:21–22). By ignoring Noah’s warnings, they paid the ultimate price.

The sheer scale of the earth’s fossil-filled deposits points naturally to a global, water-driven catastrophe. The biblical record emphatically affirms that such a planet-covering event occurred (Genesis 7:11–12, 19).

Yet atheists and skeptics reject God’s account. They attempt to explain away the evidence by inventing processes that could supposedly produce billions of fossils across worldwide sedimentary layers—while excluding God entirely. Their theories grow increasingly strained but are still taught as unquestionable fact. How many young hearts have been turned from God by this deception?

Job understood the testimony of creation: “Speak to the earth, and it will teach you, and the fish of the sea will explain to you. Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?” (Job 12:8–9). The evidence is everywhere—but who will listen?

The book of Job also reminds us that Satan could only act with God’s permission. He was not free to do as he pleased. That raises a sobering question: who ultimately allows the “natural catastrophes” we witness today?

Luke warns us that “as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man” (Luke 17:26). Only eight people survived the flood. How many are listening now?

Who will heed God’s final warning and be ready when Christ returns?
