I just got my **first two electric guitars**, a Fender and a **B.C. Rich Warlock with a Floyd Rose tremolo and EMG pickups**. 🤘
What makes these especially meaningful to me is that a **great friend gifted them to me**. He can’t play like he used to anymore, so instead of letting these guitars sit around, he decided to pass them on to me and give me the opportunity to learn. That honestly makes this feel like more than just getting a couple of guitars. I really appreciate the gesture and want to make the most of them.
I’ve wanted to learn to play electric guitar for a long time, and finally having my own guitars feels like I’m actually taking that first step.
The plan is to **learn on the Fender first** and really focus on building the fundamentals. The **B.C. Rich Warlock is the end goal**. 😂 I absolutely love the look of that guitar, and with the Floyd Rose and EMG pickups, I can already picture myself eventually being able to actually do it justice.
For now, though, I’m a complete beginner. I’m going to try to find someone who can teach me the basics and help me build a solid foundation. I’m expecting sore fingers, terrible noises, plenty of frustration, and hopefully eventually something that actually sounds like music. 😂
I’m genuinely excited to start this journey. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I’m ready to put in the time and learn.
So, experienced guitar players of Reddit, **what’s something you wish someone had taught you when you first started?** Any beginner advice, exercises, or things I should avoid would be greatly appreciated! 🎸🤘
