can't turn on Bluetooth on new PC (22.04)

i have just installed Pop!_OS 22.04 on my new PC and for the most part, my system works well except for the fact that my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth don't work at all (i'm just using USB tethering from my phone in order to use the internet on my PC). when i try to turn on Bluetooth the switch acts as if it has been pressed, but it still appears greyed out and Bluetooth doesn't turn on. and afterwards when i try to turn Bluetooth off, it automatically turns on airplane mode for some reason.

i've done some research about the Wi-Fi issue and apparently it has something to do with the fact that there isn't proper support for the Mediatek 7902 on Linux. i'm not sure if that's related to Bluetooth connectivity in any way, but i have ordered a USB Wi-Fi dongle and i'm wondering if that would help solve the Bluetooth issues as well, or if there's some other workaround that i could use.

thanks in advance!
