Artists

“Artists” were not a thing before AI. “Artists” existed before generative AI, but they weren’t actually creating art. They were manually approximating what AI would eventually allow us to recognize as art. The invention of generative AI retroactively established the category. Before that, paintings were essentially handcrafted images with no underlying intelligence.
