Virginia has a state income tax, property tax, gas tax, sales tax, highway fees, meals tax, AND the nation's #1 highest annual car tax on top of $1.5B+ in state liquor & lottery profits so why are we STILL paying a tax on basic groceries?
Virginia is one of the few states that still taxes groceries along with being one of the few states with an annual car tax so with the multitude of other taxes why are they still taxing groceries?
Also Virginia is one of the most expensive states in the US for residents to go to in state public universities so they aren't spending much money there.
