What George RR Martin should do.

This is somewhat in response to another post about him being depressed.

And it makes sense he has seemingly ended up at odds with big fans of the books who want them finished and HBO and the showrunners.

George is old and he's not finishing the books. I think most of us have known this for a very very long time. His legacy will undoubtedly be tainted. But he can salvage some of it.

I think he should come out and be honest.

"Series got away from me I can't finish it at this point"

Then either work with other writers to give us something (this seems very unlikely knowing the perfectionist that George is)

Or

Give us something. Record a very long video going over the remainder of the story. Then go on podcasts with elio and Linda or my preference Glidus and Alt Shwift. Answer questions go in depth about certain things and ideas. Have fun and celebrate your series while giving the fans something.
