I tried not to have more than one use of a single game, because Halo 3 would've definitely taken 2 or 3 categories.

Halo 3 is my favorite game of all time, so it easily took the top spot in FPS

Bug Fables was the first RPG I truly enjoyed and made the genre one of my favorites

I dislike open world games and the only one I think is enjoyable to play for a while is Skyrim and/or the other elder scrolls games.

World Box is a top tier sandbox god simulator that's just plain fun

Risk of Rain 2, like Bug Fables, made me like the genre it belongs to

I'm not sure if I need to explain Hollow Knight

Astro Bot feels like an old school ps2 3d mascot platformer for modern audiences, making it my personal favorite 3d platformer of all time

Halo Reach takes the multiplayer spot instead of Halo 3 because of my no repeat games rule. Still, the game enhanced forge, which made a lot of really fun custom games.

As you might know, Destiny 2 was created by the same developers of Halo, so the gunplay and story already appealed to me, with the added aspect of a shared world between players, making it feel like MMO Halo.

Tetris Effect is just Tetris but with a surplus of dopamine

I'm not really a fan of sports games, but Madden's just fun to mess around in.

I suck at soulslikes and soulsbornes, and Dark Souls is the only one I've played, so it doesn't have any contest.

Like soulslikes, I suck at strategy games, and the only one I was even close to being okay at, is Final Fantasy Tactics. I know it might seem stupid that I'm ranking Final Fantasy Tactics the best strategy game because of my skill issue, but it's the only one I can actually go through the story in.

Shredder's Revenge is basically the old arcade tmnt beat em ups but better and more refined.

The original DMC actually wasn't my first foray into DMC. I first watched the TV show and decided to play the first game. I'm not a fan of hack and slash games, but the world I already enjoyed pulled me in for DMC.

If there's one genre I hate more than sports, it's survival. Survival is just extra stress in my opinion, even though Don't Starve is a terrible pick if that's what I dislike. It was fun with friends though.

Chrono Trigger is just a great JRPG with good combat and a great story.

F-Zero GX is the pinnacle of the F-Zero series and has excellent gameplay.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is the first game I pull out whenever friends or family are over. Its simple controls make it easy for beginners to pick up and play, and the move sets are easy to use effectively.

Virtua Cop's light gun gameplay is so easy to get into and hard to put down. Virtua Cop sucked all my time at arcades and continues to do so.

My Personal Favorite Game in Each Genre
