MJ use and testing for RT onboarding
Hi all. Looking for some advice. Im a new graduate & I live in a state where medicinal and recreational marijuana is legal. I don’t have a medical card but i occasionally will use federally approved recreational marijuana for pain management a few times a month as needed. I just got hired to my first RT job and i’m in the onboarding process, where they need me to take a drug test. I told my onboarder i’m nervous about it because I have a feeling i’m not going to pass.. but i’m truly not a person who uses marijuana for fun, although one couldn’t tell by looking at a drug test i’ve taken. He told me he can’t make any promises but that it will most likely just be a conversation with management about it. My question is.. is anyone familiar with this scenario happening? does anyone know how strict hospitals are with marijuana specifically being tested positive when it comes to getting hired initially? I have another job lined up where I will most likely also need to take a drug test. I’m quite nervous about being confronted about it. I intend to tell the truth because i’m bad at lying, too much anxiety. Despite the risk of losing it all and ruining my reputation as a new graduate at prestigious hospitals that my professors work at. Anyways.. any advice or wisdom is appreciated.
