For the last 12 months or so my PC has had occasional crashes in games. But in the last little while its become more frequent and even crashing when i denoise in Lightroom CLassic (which uses GPU).

The crash is always the same: "Critical pricess Died" black screen.

Games it crashes: CS2 (instantly at start screen), Civ VII, Anno1800

Games no Crash (older) Unreal Tournament 3

Crashes on: Lightroom Classic Denoise (uses GPU), OCCT Combined after about 20 seconds if not sooner.

Before I go and buy a new (overpriced) GPU, is there anything else I can do to diagnose this exactly?

HARDWARE

* MEMTEST86 from boot usb overnight. No errors.
* Prime95 blend for hours and hours - no errors.
* Reseated RAM, tried single stick.
* Tried with an without AMD EXPO RAM.
* Reset BIOS to default (i.e. no overclock, but wasnt overclocked anyway).
* Reseated CPU (and tried other CPUs)
* Updated BIOS (and downgraded various versions)
* GPU is stock. Crashes when power limited to 80% and 60% TGP
* Tried a different CPU (previously had a 9700X)

SOFTWARE

* Updated chipset drivers
* Updated (and downgraded) nvidia drivers to various versions , DDU wiped drivers and reinstalled etc
* Uninstalled and deleted all game files, re download (multiple times)
* Deleted shader caches
* Limited FPS in nvidia control panel
* Windows file repair tool (sfc /scannow)
* Disabled all game overlays (steam, xbox)
* Uninstalled RGB software (I read this can cause issues lol)
* Run furmark and heaven and 3DMark benchmark tools to stress GPU - cant get it to crash like this.
* Monitored temps in HWMon - nothing is hot except CPU in prime95 for example.

I finally discovered that I can replicate the crashes with OCCT Combined test with GPU and VRAM combined. Individally these tests pass. So would that indicate something obvious?

I noticed the +12V says min value is 11.5XX volts occasionally - is that bad?

Appreciate anything else I can test/do to try to nail it down before buying a new GPU.
