Thinking about quitting
I been working at a small company since last year. Over time I have gained more and more responsibility. My co worker was on maternity leave for 2 months and I completely took over her job. My boss straight up said that the co-worker who is also my boss’s friend is likely not going to come back to work and that she wanted me to take over. She mentioned that she will give me a pay rise and a new title. Then my boss managed to convinced her friend to stay by offering her 2 days in person and 3 day working from home. Then even before her friend’s maternity leave end, she kept hinting that her friend is not going to come back and she pushed my 1 year review back - saying she doesn’t want to rush. Well her friend is full time working from home. And after 6 weeks I requested her for my review. Well she is not offering me any raise saying there is no budget, and when I asked if anything will be open for me , she again said no. Maybe if I initiate more responsibility then she will considered it…I am already doing some of her friends work, my other co worker went on vacation few months ago and I took over her role which I trained myself on. When I got this job I was told that they would eventually train me in a PM role once I get used to things. That never happened.
Honestly, I hate this job because of my boss. She is a control freak that’s why I never initiate anything new because she wants everything her way.
I keep feeling the urge to resign but this economy is tough and idk if I will ever find another job.
The benefit is shit. I kinda feel hopeless like will I ever find another job if I leave?? Getting this job wasn’t easy. I applied to hundred of jobs before landing this job.
Like wtf am I going to do? I don’t even want to go to work right now.
Has this happen to anyone??? Your boss promises or says things but never follows through?
