Do you think fashion has lost some of its personality?

I've read the recent interview with Isaac Mizrahi about the re-release of Unzipped, his 1995 documentary that followed the creation of his Fall 1994 collection, and it made me think about how different runway culture feels now.

He describes 90s fashion as much more chaotic and unpredictable. Shows weren't as controlled, celebrities would randomly turn up, backstage felt genuinely messy, and designers seemed to have much stronger personalities attached to their work.

His take is that fashion today has become much more corporate and controlled. Obviously there are still incredibly creative designers, but I kind of understand what he means. Sometimes it feels like we're seeing perfectly produced brand moments rather than an actual fashion scene.

At the same time, he points out that fashion is much less top-down now. Trends can basically come from anywhere instead of a handful of designers deciding what everyone should wear.

Do you think fashion actually lost some of its personality, or are we just romanticizing the 90s?
