How to land and crack interview in big 4 companies especially in financial institution?

I’m taking a chance on my career the hard way.

I’ve decided to give my career a new direction in the financial sector because I’ve always been genuinely interested in capital markets. Despite having an MBA, I realised that I wasn’t as confident in my financial knowledge as I wanted to be. So, I took an Investment Banking course and I recently completed it.

I have 4 years of experience in marketing and operations, and I’m now ready to start in a junior role and build my career in the finance domain. I know I’m making a career transition, but I also know that my existing experience has taught me skills that can add value.

The difficult part? I’m exhausted from applying over and over again.

Most of what I receive are automated emails saying, “Thank you for applying,” followed by a rejection.

Sometimes I genuinely wish companies like BCG, J.P. Morgan, or Goldman Sachs had a way to conduct walk-in interviews. At least then, I’d get the opportunity to sit across the table, explain my journey, and prove that I can add value.

At this point, I honestly don’t know what works.

So, if there are people here who have worked at any of these companies-or successfully transitioned into finance from another field-I would genuinely love to hear your story.

What worked for you? What would you do differently if you were making the transition today?

I’m not looking for shortcuts. I just want to understand what I can improve.

Any advice or personal experience would mean a lot. Please help. 🙏
