Is the Compact Strider effective?

F19 | My Grandma recently bought me a Compact Strider from our local thrift store, since she knew I was planning to get a walking pad. I was wondering that if I spent an hour or two on this thing, standing, with a weighted vest. Would it have the same effects as a walking pad to help slim down and stay fit?
