The absolute humanity of these books make me cry

SpoilerBook 8: A Parade of Horribles

I am milking my way through book 8 knowing that it will be awhile before I experience the joy of a new DCC book. Just arrived at the opening of chapter 62, where there is an excerpt from >!“A Banquet Fit For A Princess”!< and that one little moment of gratitude that the crawler expressed to Donut had me happy-crying. These books are just so full of these tiny moments of connection, of people being human and pausing to truly see and respect one another, and all of them have made me emotional. And for me the genius of these books is in highlighting this human connection.

For several years now I have made it a point to let the people in my life know these little moments that touch me. (Thanks, therapy, for teaching me about vulnerability:) and to see this modeled in the books fills me with so much hope for humanity. We do some truly deranged and fucked up things to each other and the planet but at the end of the day we all just want to be appreciated for the small kind things we do.

Anyway, just wanted to share this and wondering how many of you out there also practice this kind of gratitude.
