Testing a School Project: A Tool for NYS Teacher Certification (Looking for Testers!)

Hi everyone! I'm a former teacher with 8 years in the classroom (2 of those here in NYS), and now an MBA student working on this as part of a class project.

A while back I tried to transfer my out-of-state credential into NYS and it was... a lot. No clear list of what would transfer, months of digging through NYSED pages, an "individual evaluation" that took forever, and a lot of money spent without knowing if it would even work out. I know how little support and time teachers actually have for this kind of admin, so in my lab classes in MBA I have the idea to build a tool to make certification pathways clear and step-by-step (starting with NYS, so no more digging through NYSED's site) and now I would love to invite some of you to pressure test the idea/prototype with me.

I am looking for 2 types of testers right now:

Recently went through NYS certification (accepted or rejected)
→ Help me check if the predicted pathway matches what you actually experienced
→ a 30-min feedback chat

Currently in the process and feeling stuck/confused
→ use the tool over time and test if the predicted pathway helps you to go through the process
→ happy to offer my time back to review the documents if it is needed through the whole process, so you are not alone!

I welcome any teacher who needs help, but I'd especially love to hear from those transferring in from other states, those cases tend to be the most complex, and the most useful for me to learn from.
