ADHD: Love to draw but hate the process and comparison
Title pretty much speaks for itself.
I always have a desire to draw and learn. ADHD is my own foil cause I’m wanting to become better but typical art tutorials have been infuriating for me to understand and apply them. Plus when I draw, I desire so much to be on the same scale as the people I see on the internet. I can never quite stack up to them in comparison. Drawing to me sometimes feels like a stack of cards. I can spend hours drawing something but some kind of issue with my consistency, anatomy, or definition causes everything to derail in my head. Sucks cause I spend hours looking at other people’s drawings becoming envious of their skill and spend even more time working up the motivation, only to always give into hobbies for dopamine that’s way more instantaneous.
What are some ways I can approach this? There’s only so many times I can complain before I just want to do something about it.
