1970’s/1980’s Folk song that is about Bears or “Buddy Bear” or “is my buddy there?” Artist unknown

Folkish Song has a male vocalist with a semi-deep voice. I remember there being a piano and a female chorus of “ooooooOOOOOoooo’s” in between or at least after the verse’s. I cannot remember any lines other than “But he’s my buddy Bear” or it might be “But is my buddy there?” And then something about “for a summer Bear/there”. I swear it was also used as a bumper for Rush Limbaugh or Coast to Coast but I havent found it looking through those lists. Sounds like something pre 1990’s for sure. Maybe 70’s? My brain seems to recalling it sounding similar to the intro of “Misunderstanding” by Genesis but I could be totally misremembering that. This has tormented me for no less than 8-9 years.
