Does anyone else feel like your stream's "vibe" is completely static? Built a thing that changes the scene from chat, want to know if this is actually useful or just a gimmick
I stream occasionally and something always bothered me: the visuals behind me are frozen. Same scene at hour 1 and hour 6. The energy in chat swings wildly but nothing on screen ever reflects it.
So I built a scene that listens. Someone types "it's getting late" and the sky actually shifts, fog rolls in, the music softens. No commands, no "!weather rain" — you just say it like you'd say it to a person. It's been running 24/7 on YouTube for a while now.
The thing I genuinely can't tell from the inside:
-
Would you actually want chat to have this much control over your scene? Or is that a moderation nightmare waiting to happen?
-
Is "ambience that responds" something viewers stay longer for, or do they notice it once and stop caring?
-
For those of you who do Just Chatting / co-working / lofi streams — what would make this a "yes I'd install this" vs "neat, moving on"?
