Was this asthma or something else

I think I almost died? Idk but I just had what I think is a severe asthma attack. I was crying and I couldn’t breathe out my nose so I started to panic which made me hyperventilate and I was getting nothing. At some point I tried to look for my inhaler and ended up collapsing onto my floor, i couldn’t think, couldn’t form a single sentence I was speaking gibberish I was extremely lightheaded, weak, shaky, dizzy and I remember nothing. This lasted for like 5 minutes before I calmed down enough to find my mother’s inhaler. Was this asthma or something else?
