Terminated from property management job in Texas — company is refusing to pay $1,000+ in earned billable hours. Is this legal?

I was recently let go from my position at a property management company in Texas.

I missed a weekend board meeting for one of my properties. While it was my first offense, the branch president and I didn't particularly see eye-to-eye, so I'm not fighting the termination itself—it is what it is.

My issue is with my final pay. Prior to being fired, I submitted and invoiced over $1,000 in billable hours for work I already completed. My former employer is now refusing to pay me out for these hours.

A few relevant details:

- I am based in Texas.

- The work was fully performed, logged, and invoiced before my termination.

- I was classified as a w-2 employee.

Is it legal for them to withhold pay for hours I’ve already worked and invoiced? What are my best options for recovering these funds in Texas?

Thanks in advance for any insight.
