Basic economy + united explorer card

I have the united explorer card but i booked the ticket while i was half asleep and paid using another credit card with apple pay. United is saying no changing the payment method. Do i get a carryon bag? The policy in website says i need to use the card for the check bag but for carry on it just says that i need yo be a card member. I did get boarding group 2.

Tldr: paid for the ticket using a diff card. Service agent online says you dont get carry on. Policy says otherwise.
