First and foremost, the faces shown in these photos are both myself and my other roommate Joe, who has given me permission to share his photo. I blocked out my roommate’s face in order to comply with subreddit rules.

A couple months ago I made [a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/badroommates/s/RtzZDMkEzN) about a nightmare roommate / sublandlord situation myself and other roommates have been dealing with.

To keep it short, I’ll just list out some of the stuff he’s done (for recap)

• Dismantled my doorknob and trespassed into my room while I was inside

• put a padlock on our bathroom door

• physically assault and harass us whenever we would use the kitchen or refrigerator or bathroom

• hide all the toilet paper in the house and removed (and broke) the bidet that we (the other roommates) paid for in an effort to make it as difficult as possible to use the bathroom.

• force us off the living room couch physically

• verbally harass us

• removed the AC panel during a heatwave

• tried to evict us without a proper 90 day court notice

• gave us a fake “notice to vacate” then demanded full payment for the month he claimed he would evict us halfway through (on the 19th).

……..

The list goes on. For example, the evidence packet i’ve built at the moment has a total of 31 exhibits and is 64 pages long.

A month and a half ago, after a dead-end with the court, I decided the only way to move forward was to go public with it and began [uploading videos](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DafhktMBU9-/?igsh=YWNweDJjcDN5bDc1) to my instagram page which have now garnered about 23,000,000 views in total.

This eventually got the attention of media outlets. Today an [article](https://nypost.com/2026/08/11/us-news/nyc-tenants-viral-videos-on-alleged-roommate-from-hell-show-padlocked-doors-surveillance-cameras-and-jars-of-urine/) with the New York Post dropped covering our situation with exclusive interviews with previous roommates that confirm this is a pattern of behavior.

My stated goals were this:

1: If this guy is going to routinely harass people out of their shared apartment, then I’m going to warn the public about it using the tools I have.

2: Since he is an actor / public figure, each time he harassed us would automatically become content. His incentive to harass us was power, and as soon as my videos went viral, the incentive became to leave us alone because continuing to harass us would keep making the story bigger.

Months ago, we informed our landlord (who allegedly granted our roommate the ability to lease out rooms in his apartment) and he wanted nothing to do with it.

Now that the press is involved, **it appears our roommate’s tenancy is officially coming to an end.**

Again, the goal was to warn people and to make it difficult for him to continue abusing his subtenants. I believe the press covering the situation and the landlord ending his tenancy is the outcome that brings that to fruition.

This is the final update. we’re still looking for a new place but will be out soon.

The roommate in question has since laid low and has (at least intermittently) stopped verbally harassing us.

Now, when new potential roommates or landlords look him up, they will be made aware of his behavior.

Thank you to everyone who provided us the resources necessary to take this where it needed to go. The outpouring of support from people, especially all over New York City, has been so uplifting especially after months of being gaslit and told the issue was not as big as it was. While it’s not over (he’s suing us), my updates are. The rest of this will be handled in court.

Godspeed
