Keyboard Backlight question

Purchase a G16 and I’m noticing the backlight on the keyboard is not very uniform. For example the plus sign is very hard to see when the keyboard backlight is bright. It is very different that macbook laptops. Is that normal? It like the backlight is not uniform on the full key. Just curious if others see the same thing.
