Whats An Example of Humans Being Awesome In Your Area?

I just got back from an shift with an group called the Puffin Patrol. I live on the East coast of Canada. The very East and we have alot of Puffins. Theyre beautiful and mostly spend their time on the cliffs of an island of just puffins diving for fish all day long. It is a little off the coast of a rural area about 30 minutes outside our province's biggest city. Unfortunately theyre kinda dumb and blind when theyre young. Normally when flying they use moonlight for navigation but street lights, car lights and other light pollution can be confusing for young ones so they sometimes end up on land and cant find their way back home. The Puffin Patrol is an non profit that organizes nightly patrols of volunteers in small communities along the shore to help the baby puffins. So from 8-10 or 10-12 every night you get your training on how to handle them, your box and net from the org and go looking for baby puffins. You catch them and return them to the base and then the next morning when its day light they release them so they can find their way back home.
