possible career options?

I’m planning on majoring in nursing and minoring in biology in the next upcoming year for when I get into college. I know for sure that I want to be a pediatric oncology nurse and also travel nurse after a few years, but I feel like I don’t want to stop at that. As a nurse, and with my minor in biology, will I be able to insert myself in cancer research opportunities or other research opportunities? Or will my career have to be strictly nursing. I’ve always had a passion for learning and studying, so I really want to know if that can be a path I can take alongside nursing.
