What if I just randomly bought land and made my own medieval times town

Like it’s always been on my mind but like would it be totally legal to make my own town and have everything be in medieval form? Ofc no slavery or nothing but with the horses, the nice gowns, a large castle in the middle of nowhere and a town of normal people miles away. What that even be possible? Yes I’m American but I wonder if someone in America can do that or is that something completely foreign to us.

Another question would be: How tf would I get every one to follow the rules?? Like how would I get everyone to wear the medieval gowns and male wear without running people off? Idk seems like a cool thought.
