(Wayne Knight?) Kills a Woman with a Hammer

searching

Long shot, but, vaguely remember a movie I watched as a child (possible television movie, highly doubt I watched this on my own volition; not a movie I would watch as a child and probably saw it in passing that my parents may have been watching).

Do not remember anything regarding the plot, actors (aside from possibly Wayne Knight), setting, etc. I only remember the scene that's been reoccurring from memory:

Man, (actor possibly Wayne Knight, 50/50 it's him) is in an argument with a woman. Woman is most likely his spouse or a close relationship with him. Woman, calls him an insulting name. The label was pretty tame if I recall, something like Buster, idiot, moron, etc.

Man's character enraged, screams, "I told you to never call me that! I hate that!" Man, then lifts hammer in motion that he's going to swing at woman. Woman may have been in car. I'm pretty confident scene takes place outside. Woman looks shocked and afraid as man lifts hammer, and, before he swings, movie cuts to another scene (may have been another scene with completely different characters).

Later, scene shows man cleaning off hammer with towel. Blood soaked on hammer insinuating that he killed woman.

That's all I remember.

Vague details:

- I believe scene took place at man's house and they looked liked they lived in the suburbs.

- Scene may have had that dark blue hue to it. The type of hue where they want to set a darker tone in some movies.

- I don't believe man and woman described are the main characters of the movie, but, played a good part of the movie.

- Movie seemed like it had a darker tone to it. So possibly, a thriller or a dark drama.

- I'm an older millenial, so possible late 80's - early 2000's movie.

The only result that came up in Google was Rat Race and I'm most certainly confident it is not that.

Unfortunately, you would have to show me the exact scene or I would have to skim the movie finding the scene to know if it is the movie, as I don't remember anything else.

I appreciate your help! Sorry for the vagueness, (I said it would be a long shot).
