Why I’m requesting r/goosecreekcandles and how I’ll run it: (fill in — follow r/redditrequest rules.)

I would like to request moderation of r/GooseCreekCandles because I believe the community has a lot of potential, but there is currently a significant amount of drama, personal conflict, and harassment between members, often over disagreements about candles and the brand. I would like to help create a community where people can share their opinions, reviews, collections, and experiences without disagreements turning into personal attacks.

If given the opportunity to moderate the subreddit, my main priority would be creating a welcoming, respectful, and well-organized environment. Members should absolutely be able to disagree about scents, products, prices, sales, or reviews, but those disagreements should remain focused on the topic rather than becoming attacks against other users. I would enforce rules against harassment, bullying, threats, personal attacks, and targeted behavior while still allowing members to have different opinions.

I would also work to address ongoing drama before it escalates by responding to reports, removing content that violates community rules, and encouraging members to report problems rather than engaging in retaliation or arguments. I would apply the rules consistently and fairly, regardless of whether I personally agree with someone's opinion. I would also like to improve organization through clear community guidelines and appropriate post flairs so that discussions, reviews, questions, hauls, and recommendations are easier for everyone to follow.

My goal would not be to create a subreddit where everyone has to agree. Differences in opinions are part of what makes a candle community fun and interesting. My goal would simply be to make sure people can disagree without being harassed, bullied, or personally attacked. I want r/GooseCreekCandles to be a place where people can get excited about new releases, share their favorite scents, discuss products, ask questions, and connect with other candle enthusiasts without unnecessary drama taking over the community.

Ultimately, I would approach moderation with consistency, fairness, transparency, and common sense. I would like to help rebuild a positive sense of community and make r/GooseCreekCandles a fun, welcoming place for everyone who enjoys Goose Creek candles.
