Drivers be aware of bikes and others walking/running.

If you’re a driver here in Lincoln, could you be cautious of those riding bike, walking, and anyone else who are vulnerable?

Currently I can’t drive so I rely on my bike to get places like work, appointments, and other places. Also cause my family I live with can’t drive either.

Multiple times there were cars close to hitting me, it should be bikes and other pedestrians first due to how vulnerable we are compared to someone in a car in a bike and car accident.

Like when one time when the walk signal, but a car turned right in front of me as I started crossing, if I didn’t react in time I could have been hit. That driver would have been in trouble and I could have ended up in the hospital depending on how bad it was.

And then the times where I stop and wait for a car out of fear they would accidentally hit me, but then they stop and wait for me. The fact that the only time I stop is when a car stops to let me pass.

Whenever I stop it takes me a moment to gain speed again, if it’s up hill I have to walk, it’s hard to gain speed up hill, even a slight up slop is difficult for me at times.

Lastly, do NOT stop right on the cross walk unless planning to turn right away. It bothers me when it’s hard to cross when I’m allowed to but a car is on the white line crosswalk area. And if they don’t plan to turn, but there is a red light. What do you people think I and others should do? Go around into on coming cars? Go behind when another car possible coming up to the light? These moments I feel unsafe.

And it’s like… I can’t drive without someone teaching me first but I have no one to teach me yet, I can’t afford drivers ed. Both of my Grandparents are physically disabled, my brother can’t drive, and I don’t have anyone else I live with.

Uber can be expensive and I only use uber on longer rides.

Idk why I have to explain my home life, but due to how in the past if I don’t explain in detail, in the past people online try to argue with me. Like… do I have to explain my life story to give a basic point?
