Vodafone Idea’s Q1 looks better, but is this a real turnaround yet?
Vodafone Idea’s latest numbers finally show some improvement. Revenue grew 6% YoY to ₹11,689 crore, ARPU increased to ₹195 and the quarterly loss narrowed from around ₹6,608 crore to ₹3,754 crore.
Management has also announced an ambitious three-year plan: double-digit revenue growth, nearly 3x cash EBITDA and ₹45,000 crore of network investment.
My Analysis :
My view is that improving ARPU and stabilizing subscribers are positive signs. The AGR relief also gives the company some much-needed breathing room. But the bigger challenge remains funding this huge capex while competing with Jio and Airtel, both of which already have stronger networks and balance sheets.
So, while the numbers look better, I would call this an early operational recovery—not a confirmed turnaround yet. The next few quarters should show whether Vi can consistently add subscribers, improve network quality and fund its expansion without excessive dilution or debt.
Which factor would you track most closely here: subscriber growth, ARPU, funding or network expansion?
