Can my 1999 7.3 run on old motor oil?

I noticed my neighbor has a shit ton of used motor oil on the side of his house. It’s been sitting out in the elements tho so idk if that’ll affect it but the most we get is rain. I heard people using motor oil but idk if that’s js for older 7.3s.
