Just finished the game and uhh idk about this ending

OK, I just finished the game and before I talk about the ending I wanna say that this was a really great game. I enjoyed playing a lot and I kept coming back to it. The art direction, the style, the audio, the challenging puzzles, it was all really great and I enjoyed it but what in the shit did I just witness for the ending? I don’t know if there’s multiple endings But you’re telling me she dies ripping open a hatch like what?? I got so mad and I still am a little mad at how she goes out like that that’s insane, after clearing an entire mining facility of these infected robot things she goes out like that?? I’m so mad. Again, visually this game was stunning especially the last cutscene. But I’m just so angry and confused. How can my girl go out like that? She was aura farming the entire game she was so cool and then boom like that she’s gone because of a hatch. Maybe my media literacy is just shit and I don’t understand the ending but I digress. And also who is that person who I’m assuming killed Adler at the end of the game? She had this like ring around her torso and was pointing a gun at him.
