Friend calls me petty for considering disability services

Need Reassurance...

I 19m was recently referred to a restaurant job by my friend and have been working with him ever since. This job is absolutely gruesome especially closing shift because at the end of the day it’s just one busser closing the entire restaurant by ourselves. I’m a busser/foodrunner and there’s usually just 2 bussers practically running the whole restaurant doing everything while servers/managers complain and barely do anything. I would’ve been quit but I desperately need the money and don’t have the time to search for other jobs.

This job has been so mentally and physically draining that it has taken a huge toll on my sleep schedule. I have multiple disabilities that make it more difficult than it already is to work. I have ADHD, OCD, chronic anxiety, and hypersomnia.

I am also attending college, so recently I’ve been thinking of getting a disability service note from my doctor to manage my schedule at work so I don’t have to work closing — so I can manage my sleep schedule for school.

One day, while in the car of my friend’s (him driving me home) after a closing shift at work with him, I told him about how I was considering getting a disability service note from my doctor and he said that I couldn’t do that. He said that I was lucky I got the job in the first place since I didn’t have any prior fine dining experience and that it’s petty of me to not work closing since there’s only 3 bussers in total. He asked me why I wanted to avoid working closing shifts and whenever I’d answer he’d respond with “and” and told me that he’d just keep responding with “and” because I am being “petty” and that my disabilities didn’t matter in the workplace.

I then asked him to give me 10 reasons as to why he’s still with his situationship and he said I had no right to ask and that he has the right to not answer because that’s his “personal stuff”. Which I find very hypocritical because he has no right to ask me about my personal life either.

That’s pretty much it. What he said really bothered me and I just needed to get it off my chest because I believe I should be treated fairly regardless of my disabilities or circumstances. Also sorry for any grammer mistakes I was writing this in a rush lol.
