I have always preferred the enormous capital ships in *Star Wars*, so I decided to create the Eclipse-class dreadnought.

The Eclipse is a *Star Wars Legends* vessel associated with the *Dark Empire* era. It was designed to feel like the ultimate Imperial flagship: extremely long, almost completely black, heavily layered, and intimidating before it even fires a weapon.

That sense of scale was the main reason I wanted to build it.

My finished version contains **1,326,888 blocks** and is **804 blocks long**.

The model went through several revisions. The first challenge was getting the ship to lie horizontally with the correct proportions. After that, I worked on the bow, layered hull, upper structures, bridge, stern, and engines.

The red lighting took the most adjustment.

At first, it was easy to treat it as one long red stripe, but that did not look right. The light needed to follow the actual divisions between the different structural layers of the hull. As the ship rises toward the rear, additional illuminated sections appear around the higher structures and bridge.

The stern also needed five properly positioned glowing engines. I rebuilt and checked that area repeatedly from the rear and from several angled views until the engines sat naturally inside the surrounding structure.

The final lighting includes:

* Three levels of illuminated hull structure
* Additional lighting around the upper ship and bridge
* Five illuminated rear engines
* No random red lines crossing the deck
* No invented escort ships surrounding it

This is currently a standalone Eclipse rather than a fleet composition.

I made that decision because the ship is powerful enough to carry the scene by itself. I also did not want to place unrelated ships beside it simply to fill empty space.

Eventually, however, I want to go much further than individual models. My long-term goal is to create huge space environments with capital ships, stations, planets, distant fleets, and cinematic lighting.

For me, this model is the first step toward that larger scene.
