Shearing sheep and life
Hey,
Im just started playing Runescape. I did the mini games where you shear the sheep and learn to spin wool in thr castle. It was fun, I enjoyed seeing the little sheep with the penguins under it. I tried to shear it a few times but couldn't get at it. The game is simple but I love the way it is done.
I made me reflect on my life. I just dropped out of a masters program and needed something to take my mind off of it. Honestly, I wish growing up my life was like this Runescape game, not as much pressure but just leveling up and discovering different skills and building them over time. My parents put alot of pressure on my a few years back to go to grad school, however, this was not for me. Im now 29 and see that it was a fear based choice i made entering these programs. Unlike in Runescape where it is out of curiosity. I miss that, making choices out of curiosity, not fear. I wish I could uninstall all the fear based responses that influence my major life decisions. I wish I could feel the same wonder and awe as when I used to write to my pen pal or doba science experiment in high school. Instead it feels like ive made myself so convenient and small for the world. I miss the curious younger version of myself.
